Jason Riffe spearheads the SDS Impact Debt platform. Mr. Riffe focuses on providing borrowers with an efficient and streamlined process for them to access capital markets. Mr. Riffe engages all of the requisite parties to the transaction, creating a road map for execution, while at the same time guiding clients through the execution of each step. By supporting aligned development firms, Jason ensures that debt and equity investments work to expand the capacity of the housing development community and increase access to affordable capital, all with the ultimate goal of making it easier for residents to find safe, stable homes in their community of choice.
To date, Mr. Riffe has closed $215MM of private credit, including two asset-backed bond issuances, that have financed over 1,300 units of housing, 100% being affordable housing units. Mr. Riffe originally developed the scalable execution in 2020 while at the United Way of Greater Los Angeles. At SDS he is structuring the debt platform so that it can both replicate and be accessible across a national footprint. Key to his activities is structuring the product so client-partners can access the capital at below market terms that provide more affordable financing for their affordable housing projects. Mr. Riffe’s personal goal behind creating this platform continues to be that it contributes to the health, welfare, and quality of life of our society.
