An NNMF Investment Will Bring Much Needed Jobs to Union City, Tennessee

The Memphis Business Journal profiled NNMF’s New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) investment in Made in America Seating, a manufacturer of ergonomic office seating in Union City, Tennesee. After Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. closed its manufacturing plant in Union City in 2011, the region lost more than 1,900 jobs. Thanks to NNMF’s $16 million NMTC investment, a new manufacturing facility from California-based MIA Seating will make up for 500 of these lost jobs over the next five years. Production is scheduled to begin in 2015.
